How we write our walking guides
The Mova Walking Guide exists to help people walk more, whether or not they use Mova. This page explains who writes the guides, how they’re checked and what we won’t do.
Who writes them
Guides are published by the Mova team at Grapefine, the independent app studio that makes Mova. They are bylined “the Mova team”. We don’t invent authors, experts or credentials. At the moment, the guides are not reviewed by a named medical professional; if that changes, the reviewer will be named on each guide they review.
How a guide is written
- Sources first. Health statements come from published research and health authorities such as the WHO, NHS, CDC and national institutes, listed under each guide so you can check them.
- AI-assisted, human-checked. We use AI to help research and draft. Every guide is checked against its sources and against Mova’s product specifications before it goes live.
- Product facts from the product. Anything a guide says about Mova comes from the app’s own specifications and content, not from memory or marketing.
- Useful without the app. Each guide should help someone who never downloads Mova. Mentions of Mova are short and come after the advice.
What we won’t do
- Promise an amount or speed of weight loss, or suggest that any method guarantees results.
- Present calorie figures as exact; they are estimates.
- Diagnose, treat or replace advice from your doctor.
- Use before-and-after bodies, invented testimonials, ratings or user numbers.
Updates and corrections
Each guide shows the date it was last updated. We review guides when the research or the app changes. If you spot a mistake, email hello@movawalk.com with the page and what’s wrong; we correct errors and update the date.
Health and safety
Mova is for adults. It isn't medical advice. If you have a health condition, check with your doctor before you start. Stop if you feel chest pain or tightness, dizziness, faintness, unusual breathlessness or a racing or uneven heartbeat. If chest pain is severe or doesn't ease within a few minutes of rest, call emergency services. Get medical advice if any of these keep coming back.
