Steps and HealthHow-to
Change or remove Mova's Health access
Apple Health and Health Connect control what Mova may read and save. Change it there, or open it from Mova's Health & devices screen. Disconnecting stops Mova reading new data and never deletes your Health data.
Change it
On iPhone
Apple doesn’t let apps open this page directly, so you change it in Settings:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Privacy & Security, then Health.
- Tap Mova, and turn on or off what Mova may read (Steps, Walking + Running Distance) or save (Workouts).
Mova shows these steps in Profile & settings › Health & devices › Manage access. In the Health app the same page is under your profile picture › Apps › Mova.
On Android
- In Mova, go to Profile & settings › Health & devices and tap Manage access. Health Connect opens.
- Tap App permissions, then Mova.
- Turn on or off what Mova may read (Steps, Distance) or save. To remove everything, turn off all permissions for Mova.
You can also open Health Connect from your phone’s settings. On Android 14 and later it’s usually under Settings › Security and privacy › Privacy controls › Health Connect; the exact path depends on your phone.
What disconnecting does
- Mova stops reading new steps and distance. On Android, Today then says Mova can’t see your steps. You can allow access in Health Connect. On iPhone, Mova can’t tell that access was turned off; Today says Mova can’t see today’s steps yet. Check that Mova can read Steps in Health.
- It never deletes your Apple Health or Health Connect data.
- Days Mova already counted, and walks you recorded in Mova, stay in Mova.
- Walks Mova already saved to Health stay in Health. You can delete them there.
- Walks you record in Mova keep counting toward your goal.
To allow access again: on Android, go to Profile & settings › Health & devices, tap Open Health Connect and allow Steps for Mova. On iPhone, turn access back on in Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Mova.
Saving walks to Health
The Your Mova walks switch under Mova saves is controlled by your phone too. On iPhone, Mova shows how to change it in Settings; on Android it opens Health Connect.
Deleting what Mova keeps
Disconnecting Health doesn’t delete your Mova account or what Mova stored. To remove that, see Delete your account.
