Moving to a new phone
Install Mova on the new phone and sign in with the same method as before. Your plan, goals and walks come with you. Then reconnect Health, set your reminders and check your units.
On the new phone
- Install Mova from the App Store or Google Play.
- Tap Already use Mova? Sign in and use the same method as before (Apple, Google or the same email).
- Mova checks your membership and opens Today. If it says your membership has ended, tap Restore purchase: see Restore your membership.
You don’t need to answer the setup questions again.
What comes with you
Your profile, goals, plan, walks, daily activity and achievements are kept in your Mova account, so they appear on the new phone.
One exception: if you chose to keep your health information on your phone only (Mova says Saved on this phone only), that information isn’t in your account and doesn’t move. Export it first: see Export your data.
What to set up again
| On the new phone | Why |
|---|---|
| Connect Health in Profile & settings › Health & devices | Health access belongs to each phone. |
| Reminders | Mova asks Keep reminders on this phone? and your phone asks for notification permission again. |
| Units & preferences | Units, route recording, audio and haptic cues and Keep screen on are saved per phone. |
| Permissions | Location and Motion & Fitness / Physical activity are asked again before your first walk. |
What stays on the old phone
- Route maps of earlier walks. They’re stored only on the phone that recorded them: Route maps stay on the phone that recorded them. The walks themselves, with their time, distance and steps, do move. If you want to keep the maps, export your data on the old phone first; routes are included as GPX files.
Using two phones
You can be signed in on more than one phone. Each phone shows its own steps for today; for past days Mova uses the best data from your phones without adding them together.
Switching between iPhone and Android
Your Mova account works on both. Your membership is managed in the store you bought it in, though: an App Store membership stays in the App Store. Mova tells you where to manage it.
Lost your old phone?
Just sign in on the new one. To sign out the lost phone, there’s no remote option in Mova. If you’re worried about your data, you can delete your account, which signs you out everywhere.
